The Field-resolved Infrared Spectroscopy Team welcomes Sergio Revuelta, who joins us as postdoctoral scientist.

Sergio did his bachelor's degree at the Autonomous University of Madrid and his master's degree at the Photonic Sciences Institute (ICFO) and Technical University of Catalonia (UPC). He completed his doctoral degree at the IMDEA Nanoscience in Spain. During his PhD, he investigated the carrier dynamics of silicon and silicon-based material as a function of the injection level, temperature and the incident photon energy using time-resolved terahertz spectroscopy.  He also collaborated with an international consortium in the characterization of novel semiconductor materials based on metal-organic frameworks.

In the FRIS team, Sergio will work closely with Kafai Mak on the development of next-generation field-resolved infrared spectroscopy based on Cr:ZnS technology. The goal is to implement novel nonlinear techniques to boost the detection limit to the next level.
