The "Field-resolved Infrared Spectroscopy Team" welcomes Claudio Cavecchi as a laser engineer. Claudio studied Engineering Physics at the Politecnico di Milano. He did his Master thesis on label-free and high-speed biomedical imaging through colocalized SHG and broadband CARS microscopy. After that, he worked as an electro-optical system engineer at Leonardo.

Here in Garching, Claudio will work together with other members of the team on the development of a new infrasampler prototype based on Cr:ZnS laser technology. The goal is to transform latest research into an instrument that can reliably measure over years thousands of blood samples collected in campaigns like Health4Hungary ( and Lasers4Life (, providing the data to train machine-learning algorithms for efficient health monitoring and disease detection.
