The "Field-resolved Infrared Spectroscopy Team" welcomes Claudio Cavecchi as a laser engineer. Claudio studied Engineering Physics at the Politecnico di Milano. He did his Master thesis on label-free and high-speed biomedical imaging through colocalized SHG and broadband CARS microscopy. After that, he worked as an electro-optical system engineer at Leonardo.

Here in Garching, Claudio will work together with other members of the team on the development of a new infrasampler prototype based on Cr:ZnS laser technology. The goal is to transform latest research into an instrument that can reliably measure over years thousands of blood samples collected in campaigns like Health4Hungary (h4h.hu) and Lasers4Life (lasers4life.de), providing the data to train machine-learning algorithms for efficient health monitoring and disease detection.
