The attosecond spectroscopy 2.0 team is pleased to welcome Benedict Röcken as a new PhD student.

Benedict recently completed his master’s degree at LMU Munich in collaboration with MPQ in the group of Prof. Immanuel Bloch. Here, he worked on designing and implementing a laser system for trapping, cooling and addressing fermionic Strontium.

Now, as part of the attosecond spectroscopy 2.0 group, his doctoral research will focus on advancing differential molecular fingerprinting by integrating optical parametric amplifiers. This work holds the potential to significantly improve the detection of subtle variations between blood samples, contributing to enhanced capabilities in medical diagnostics.

We wish him a great start!
