We are pleased to welcome Prof. Satoshi Ashihara from the University of Tokyo as a guest this week.
At the attoworld seminar this morning, Prof. Ashihara delivered a talk titled “Ultrashort Mid-Infrared Pulses for Vibrational Spectroscopy and Molecular Control”. In his talk, he highlighted recent advances in mid-infrared femtosecond laser technology and its application to background-free molecular detection. The talk also explored multiphoton ladder-climbing excitation driven by waveform-controlled mid-infrared pulses toward potential control of molecular motion and reactivity.

Prof. Ashihara will be in Garching until Thursday. If you are interested in exchanging ideas with him, please contact Alexander Weigel to arrange a meeting.
