The Semmelweis University awarded Ferenc Krausz the Semmelweis Budapest Award. Since 2009, the university has been honoring scientists in natural sciences who have achieved worldwide recognition and whose work has contributed to the advancement of humanity.

“This new path, the infrared molecular fingerprinting method, is promising, but we still have a lot of work to do to turn this promise into applications as far-reaching as Katalin Karikó’s mRNA vaccine. I am delighted to be able to do this in close collaboration with my research team and researchers at Semmelweis University,” said Ferenc Krausz after being presented with the award by the university’s rector, Béla Merkely.
