Looking for something to do this Saturday? In case you have always wondered what is happening in the other laboratories and institutions here on campus, we have some good news for you!
On October 3, more than 30 facilities at Forschungscampus Garching will once again open their doors and give a behind-the-scenes look into their research activities. In parallel, there will also be the Maus Open Day, which is aimed towards the younger generations.
As two years ago, we are of course also involved in both events here at the MPQ. Visitors will have the opportunity to have a look into one of the attoworld laboratories as well as the PhotonLab, participate in workshops with the quantum algorithm demonstrator and the single photon source, and build a smartphone spectrometer and test their knowledge about light at the photonworld booth.
At the Herbert Walther lecture hall, we will additionally have talks from Moritz Dorband, giving an introduction into quantum physics (12:15 pm), from Mihaela Zigman on the research in the BIRD team (1 pm), and from Thorsten Naeser about science photography (1:45 pm). Furthermore, Veit Ziegelmaier and Sofie Silbermann will do a live reading of the 4th episode of the “Alice im Quantenland” audioplay (11 am).
On the other side of campus, CALA will also open its doors to interested visitors.
