On the occasion of his appointment as Chair Professor at the Department of Physics of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) , Professor Ferenc Krausz, 2023 Nobel Laureate in Physics, is scheduled to deliver his Inaugural Lecture on November 7, 2025. The lecture will be streamed live and can be watched in Germany at 11:15 AM CET.
Titled “Toward Affordable Preventive Healthcare: How Basic Science Addresses Grand Challenges”, Krausz will present the initiative, which emerged from decade-long research on attoworld, including especially the Center for Molecular Fingerprinting in Budapest, Hungary.
As one of the pioneers of attosecond physics, Krausz and his collaborators demonstrate how the ability to capture ultrafast electronic movements in molecules of cell-free human blood opens new avenues for early disease detection and health monitoring.
