Congratulations Ferenc! The American “National Academy of Sciences” based in Washington has recently announced the election of 120 members and 25 international members. Ferenc Krausz is also among the new appointees. The Academy appoints new members in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. The NAS is an honorary society. It consists of leading scientists from various disciplines who advise the U.S. government and its agencies on scientific matters and conduct research.

The newly appointed bring the total number of active members to 2705 and the total number of international members to 557. International members are members of the Academy with citizenship outside the United States.
