Klinikum Nürnberg, Campus Nord, has joined the clinical Lasers4Life study as a new study site. The BIRD-Lasers4Life team is collaborating closely with the Department of Pneumological Oncology and other participating clinical departments.
The value of the new site extends beyond additional recruitment. Different patient populations, clinical routines and medical settings provide an important opportunity to investigate how robust and transferable Infrared Molecular Fingerprinting (IMF) is across clinical environments.
The Lasers4Life study focuses on our ongoing efforts to advance IMF, using infrared spectroscopic methods to investigate molecular patterns in cell-free venous blood. The aim is to determine whether these molecular fingerprints could in future support the early detection and primary diagnostics of lung cancer.
The expansion of the clinical Lasers4Life study is supported by funding from the Bavarian Center for Cancer Research (BZKF). The BIRD-Lasers4Life team would like to thank the BZKF, the Nuremberg study team and, above all, new study participants for their support and contribution.
