The attoworld team would like to congratulate Philip Jacob, who successfully defended his doctoral thesis today. Under the title "Rapid electric-field molecular fingerprinting - Advancing infrared laser spectroscopy for blood-based phenotype diagnostics", Jacob presented his scientific findings. After initially studying with Prof. Dr. Ioachim Pupeza, he joined Dr. Mihaela Zigman's BIRD team. She was one of the first to congratulate him. As you can see from his obligatory doctoral hat, Philip obviously has other passions besides physics. At least that's probably how the musical Playmobil man can be interpreted. But anyone who was present at the last attoworld Christmas party will have seen Philip live on the keyboard in the first part of the musical performances.
