Peter Hommelhoff, research group leader at IMPRS-APS and Professor at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich), has been awarded this year’s Otto-Hahn-Preis for his groundbreaking work on the ultrafast control of electrons and the establishment of new areas of research associated with this. 

The Otto-Hahn-Preis – jointly awarded by the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft e.V. (DPG), the German Chemical Society (GDCh), and Stadt Frankfurt am Main – honors exceptional scientific achievements in chemistry, physics, and applied engineering.
