Johannes Blöchl has successfully defended his PhD thesis titled “Ultrafast Pulse Metrology”!
In his doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. Matthias Kling, Johannes focused on the metrology of and with ultrashort pulses. His main objective was the generation of such pulses, where he developed a record-breaking laser system in the short-wave infrared range. Furthermore, he explored innovative measurement methods, including the determination of the carrier-envelope phase via laser-induced currents in gases. Moreover, Johannes designed an attosecond beamline specifically designed to operate with lasers with more than 40W of power, particularly focusing on an innovative stabilization scheme of the delay line.
Congratulations on this remarkable achievement!
