For the third time, also this year’s attoworld retreat took place at Hotel Steinpent in St. Johann in Ahrntal, South Tyrol, which is slowly becoming a tradition. The gathering of all attoworld science groups for an internal science summit surrounded by a stunning mountain scenery was once again a successful and inspiring event.
Each team leader reported on their research progress, detailing both challenges and achievements. Like climbing a mountain, their work is often an uphill battle, but many have overcome obstacles and are now over the hill, advancing toward new findings and insights. Under Krausz’s leadership, the teams aim to reach the summit of their scientific goals, committed to moving mountains despite the mountains of work ahead.
Evenings were filled with poster sessions, socializing and good food, strengthening connections among team members. On Wednesday, the group took a break for a day of hiking in the surrounding mountains. This brief retreat into nature served as a reminder that, much like their research, the climb may be difficult, but things are looking up.
