On Thursday, June 26, it was that time again: For the fourth time, the Science Slam of the Münchner Universitätsgesellschaft took place in the Walther Straub Lecture Hall of the LMU Institute of Forensic Medicine. In the categories TED Talk, Freestyle, and Poetry Slam, a total of eleven acts took to the stage in front of a packed audience.

The range of presentations and performances included short scientific talks on topics such as exoplanets, humorous takes on the importance of living wills, a crime short story, and a passionate appeal for more women in science — and, of course, the performance by Alice and Schrödinger’s Cat.

At 8:30 p.m., Sofie Silbermann and Veit Ziegelmaier took to the stage. Dressed in full costume, they performed the song „Welt der Quanten“ from the PhotonLab audio play series for children Alice im Quantenland. Accompanied by rhythmic clapping from the audience, they sang about the seemingly bizarre phenomena of the quantum world, elementary particles, and the tunnel effect.

By the way, the audio play series recently made it into the children’s education charts on the website podwatch.io.

And on Sunday, July 6, there will be another live reading with Alice and Schrödinger’s Cat on the Dome Stage at the Festival der Zukunft at the Deutsches Museum.
