A mop or a sheepdog? This image recognition game kicked off the presentations on data science and AI held by our colleagues at Kutatók Éjszakája – Researchers’ Night at Semmelweis University in Budapest. Our team participated in the event series for the first time, where data scientists and PhD candidates Flóra Németh and Zita Zarándy represented CMF.
In addition to knowledge on AI and data science in general, the presentation highlighted how data science and laser physics can help us recognize serious diseases even before symptoms appear. Despite being our first appearance at this particular event series, our participance was quite successful.
The presentations were followed by an active audience as Flóra and Zita received many great questions about the work of CMF and the analysis of health data. So much so, that the Kahoot quiz they prepared for all three slots only happened after the last presentation. That was already past the designated time slot because of the engaging conversations sparked by the audience, which was quite mixed.
It is a wonderful thing to know that those already participating in our H4H Program are actually interested in what we do, how they contribute to our research, and how it can affect future generations.
