The ACCORD Laser-System operated by the attoworld-team around Prof. Ferenc Krausz at the Max-Planck-Institute of Quantum Optics is taking shape. The attosecond metrology 2.0 group led by Dr. Matthew Weidman and Dr. Vladislav Yakovlev is now working to get the optimal bandwidth and to subsequently improve the pulse compression to 95 % of the theoretical limit. The team relies on two iterations for the development of custom multi-layer optics designed in-house. Once fully operational, the laser system will provide the needed high repetition rate for advancing attosecond metrology to the next level - experiments that demand greater sensitivity in electric field-metrology, for an ever-increasing bandwidth.
